Sesame Balls(Ellu)

Ellu Mittai / Sesame Balls / Sesame candy / ellu urundai / Sesame Balls is a crunchy and nutty sweet made primarily with sesame seeds and Jaggery. Ellu means Sesame seeds in Tamil. These burfi are so nutritious with the goodness of two healthy ingredients Sesame seeds and Jaggery (natural sugar substitute). Here the Sesame seeds are roasted, mixed with caramelized Jaggery and then made to burfi or balls. Ellu Mittai is a part of South Indian tradition to make them for festive seasons to bring goodness and happiness throughout the year.
